FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS AT ARRAWDAH:
I. What to Expect: Once you decide to use Al-Rawdah Muslim Cemetery, a member of the Burial Committee will make all the necessary arrangements and take care of details including:
1. Transportation of the deceased from the hospital or house to the funeral home in Fort Worth, Texas.
2. Call the funeral home and obtain appointment for:
* the family to meet the funeral director and,
* for performance of the ghusl (body wash).
3. Assist with the ghusl and provide kafan (clothing of the deceased). It is the duty of the family members to perform the ghusl.
4. Accompany the body to the Prayer Hall for Salat-ul-Janazza (prayer for the deceased) and then to Al-Rawdah Cemetary for the actual burial.
5. Order gravestone marker at the request of the family.
II. Body Transport: The initial transportation of the deceased will be by Tarrant County Mortician Service. This will be arranged by the member of Burial Committee.
III. Funeral Home: The designated funeral home is Baumgardner Funeral Home located at 3704 Highway 377 in Fort Worth, Texas [Phone: (817) 731-8400]. To reach the funeral home, take exit 7B from the I-30 (West of Hulen exit) and then turn South on Highway 183. Drive South for 2 miles to a large round-about. The funeral home is on Highway 377 on your right side. The director of the funeral is Mr. Allen Baumgardner.
IV. Documents: A member of the family with authority to execute legal papers must be at least 1 hour prior to the start of the ghusl to sign legal documents including the Burial Permit and pay the necessary fees. Information about the decedent will be required including exact dates of birth and death, place of birth and death, social security number and names of next-of-kin. No burial will take place without signing of Burial Permit.

V. Fees: The basic fee is $2,700 and this sum will be collected by the funeral home. Services included for this fee are detailed in the Fee Schedule and it includes the headstone. There is an additional optional fee for motor cycle police escort ($300).
VI. Prayers at Mosque and Burial: Salat-ul-Janaza will take place at the Central Mosque in Fort Worth located at 4801 Fletcher Avenue, Fort- Worth [Phone: (817) 737-8104) after the ghusl. At the request of the family, Salat-ul-Janaza may be held at the Arlington Masjid located at 100 Madinah street, Burial is permitted at any time except at the time of Fajr (sunrise) or Maqreb (sunset).
VII. Who should attend the prayer at the mosque? It is duty of the family members and friend to attend the funeral especially salat-ul-janaza. All person are welcome to the mosque, including children as well as non-Muslim family members and friends. All non-Muslims should be instructed to take their shoes off and non-Muslim women should be instructed to dress appropriately and decently and must wear Hijab (scarf) to cover the hair. Men are greatly encouraged to accompany the deceased the Cemetery.
VIII. Music, incense or candles, mentioning Allah's name audibly, weeping aloud or reading Quran aloud, and photography (both still & video) are strictly prohibited before during or after ghusl whilst accompanying the deceased, in the masjid or at the cemetery.
IX. Friends and family members should not send flowers to the Masjid or Funeral Home. It is preferable to send flowers to the home.
